We’re looking for a WordPress developer who can create and maintain enterprise-level websites capable of performing for 1M+ monthly users. In this role, you’ll design custom plugins, build scalable WordPress themes, and optimize site performance using widely used tools like code versioning systems and Chrome Inspector. Collaboration will be key: you’ll work across multiple teams and with several stakeholders on each project. We’d love to see what you can add to our team if you are skilled in PHP, JavaScript frameworks, and responsive design, with a portfolio showcasing it. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities:

• Plugin development: Create custom plugins to automate enterprise-level operations, such as integrating live analytics dashboards or automating WordPress CMS.
• Theme generation: Generating WordPress themes with modular layouts designed to implement websites with content-heavy pages at scale, prioritizing fast load times and SEO-friendly structures. 
• Content migration: Perform content transfers from legacy systems into WordPress without compromising functionality or cohesive design. 
• Data-driven web development: Perform data-driven site optimization using relevant KPIs like page load speed and page rankings. 
• Collaborative design: Keep communication lines open as you work with UX/UI designers to develop website layouts that illustrate our product lines' myriad features and use cases.
• Security and compliance: Use tools like Wordfence to monitor and address WordPress's weak spots, uphold secure coding practices, and track updates with code versioning tools for compliance.  
• Accessibility: Be mindful of all user needs in development by meeting industry standard web accessibility (i.e., WCAG) for inclusive, user-friendly online experiences. 
• Plan for scalability: Build modular, well-documented sites for scalable architecture that can handle the pressure of dramatic traffic spikes. 

The ideal candidate will need the following technical skills:

• PHP expertise: Advanced knowledge of PHP back-end development for custom API integration.
• Front-end development: Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, as well as frameworks like Vue.js for responsive design websites. 
• Database management:  Experience with MySQL for data handling and optimization.
• API integration: Proven ability to develop and integrate RESTful APIs, such as third-party analytics tools or payment gateways.
• Version control: Portfolio showcasing the use of Git for collaborative workflows. 
• Web security: Strong grasp of security practices to protect against vulnerabilities like SQL injection and XSS. 
• Cloud integration and hosting: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure to implement websites and manage scalable WordPress environments.
• Scalable architecture: Designing modular, reusable components to support high-traffic sites. 

Priority will be given to candidates with:

• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) or PHP frameworks to optimize and expand WordPress development.
• Advanced debugging skills and a readiness to resolve complex issues across Wordpress plugins, themes, and server configurations using tools like Xdebug.
• Experience planning sprints for plugin and theme updates and implementing CI/CD to reduce bugs and improve deployment reliability.

We’re seeking a WordPress web developer who meets the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or a related field. Candidates with comparable in-field experience will also be considered.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in WordPress development, including site integration, server integration, and customizing themes. 
• Interpersonal skills: Proactive self-starter who can also collaborate with UX designers, QA engineers, project managers and stakeholders. Fluency in English is essential to communicate with our global team. 
• Solving complex challenges is what gets you out of bed in the morning. You enjoy the buzz of creating innovative solutions to modern web development problems—like the ever-changing rules of search engine optimization or increasing functionality for a content management system. 
• The technical aspects of your job are top priorities. You understand a WordPress website developer needs security and performance because stakeholders demand trust, and every user deserves speedy, reliable, and functional websites.
