Comprehensive QA for YouTube and Android TV
The summary.
When launching Android TV, Google trusted us to deliver stand-alone and integrated testing services. We ensured the interface met Google's user expectations, fixed bugs, and improved user experience during the rollout.
"There are three keys to effective QA. First, an engineer needs to understand how the user will interact with the software and what they want to achieve with its use. Second, they need to understand the code that delivers the desired outcome. And third, they need to be disciplined and organized in testing every angle. At BairesDev, we only hire proven engineers at the top of their field, which guarantees that we deliver on all three keys for every client."

Google has made the world's information accessible and useful for 25 years. They developed Android in 2008 for touchscreen devices, cell phones, and tablets. We worked on QA for 3 Google products: YouTube, Android TV, and iOS/Android search apps.
The challenge.
Google's tools and products run on more than 2 billion lines of code. They need reliable and agile engineers to promptly address user problems hidden within the Android operating system and YouTube apps. They needed QA engineers familiar with all core platforms and ready to tackle real-time user feedback.
Google adopts a release early and often software development approach or continuous integration and deployment. Using extensive QA, Google can absorb user feedback, promptly fix bugs, and sustain developer velocity at scale. We provided senior QA developers to improve Google's products on an ongoing basis.
When launching Android TV, Google trusted us to deliver stand-alone and integrated testing services. We ensured the interface met Google's user expectations. The team efficiently fixed bugs and improved user experience during the Android TV roll-out. We then agreed to work on the YouTube QA project.
The solution.
We worked in five of Google's QA teams, on both Android TV and YouTube QA projects. We delivered a team of QA engineers that identified and converted manual testing into automated testing processes. Our work improved scalability while maintaining a consistent user experience across all devices and platforms.
The outcome.
Our teams:
- Identified bugs in Android Google Search App (AGSA) and Google Search Appliance (GSA)
- Performed manual testing for Google Assistant App on Android TV devices (Nvidia Shield, JBL Soundbar, Direct TV, and Sony TV)
- Wrote scripts to automate testing on YouTube, Android, and iOS apps
- Performed Automation Testing for Google+.
