At the beginning of the pandemic, organizations were forced to pivot to a remote work environment, which created an unprecedented disruption to their operations. Due to the speed at which organizations had to adjust to this new normal, business leaders were unable to develop and implement thoughtful and smart strategies for remote work – many of them hadn’t considered remote work before and so they had to learn, develop, and implement best practices on the fly. As many organizations make plans for prolonged, and in some cases indefinite, remote work due to increased concerns over the Delta variant, business leaders should take the time now to reassess their operational and organizational structures to determine what’s worked and what hasn’t over the last year and create a plan for long-term success.
