About Univision

Univision is a media company serving Spanish-speaking North America. It offers news, sports, 59 TV stations, 57 radio stations, and the content-streaming service Univision Now. 100 million Spanish speakers access Univision daily.

The challenge.

The entertainment industry has had to pivot to mobile-first content delivery. More and more consumers want to stream content and read news on their cell phones. Consumers also expect high-quality videos and quick buffering times. Univision needed to develop mobile apps for their news and entertainment services. They also wanted to migrate to a microservices architecture for a faster development speed.

TelevisaUnivision, a merger of Univision and Televisa, has the largest Spanish-language content library in the world. They have over 40,000 hours of content. Their Content Management System (CMS) needed migrating and development to improve loading times and optimize content.

Entertainment enterprises need to comply with  Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Univision needed to improve the overall usability for their audience. This included a redesign of the front end of the website in 2020. They needed to incorporate more accessibility functions with navigation options.

We supported Univision in developing its website, video player, and apps. They wanted to improve the overall performance of its content. Upgrading the UX was a priority to create a more seamless user environment.
