About SiriusXM
In 2008, Sirius XM was born from the merger of two satellite radio giants, Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio. This strategic union enabled Sirius XM to consolidate their resources and emerge as a dominant player in their industry. They are now a leading provider of satellite and online radio services in the United States, with over 34 million subscribers.
The challenge.
Sirius XM was determined to expand their programming to online and mobile platforms and broaden their offerings from purely audio to include video and live video. This required transitioning from a broadcast company to a provider of cloud-based streaming services.
Because they wanted to use TIBCO Businessworks, a technology framework that employs plug-ins and results in a complex data structure, the challenge extended beyond a simple migration.
Sirius XM needed software engineers who could create new services and features to be able to keep up with listener demand.
