About Kinesso

IPG Media Brands manages over $47 billion in marketing investment on behalf of its clients. Kinesso, is IPG's performance agency. Their clients include American Express, Coca-Cola, Fitbit, GoPro, Johnson & Johnson, and Spotify.

The challenge.

IPG Media Brands caters to diverse brands and industries. Kinesso was founded as a centralized marketing intelligence solution for IPG's clients. Access to tailored data streams is key to generating actionable marketing insights. Kinesso needed an efficient way to pull data from disparate sources.  

The initial project goal was migrating to a more efficient ETL tool. The tool needed to integrate disparate data streams from Google, Meta, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, and TikTok’s ad server platforms. We partnered with Kinesso and provided senior data engineers who could build their custom ETL tool in SQL. 

The next step for Kinesso was to make all the data available in one place. The solution needed to allow customers to leverage their own first-party data, coupled with other strategic data sets. The platform would be flexible by offering customers access to customized KPI dashboards. We provided a senior data analyst to create Tableau dashboards for customized, real-time reporting. 

Kinesso needed to migrate to a more efficient ETL tool to pull data from disparate sources and make customizable KPI dashboards for customers.

The solution.

Kinesso chose our staff augmentation model. We worked across 3 of Kinesso's internal teams. Our front-end devs were dedicated to improving the UI of the applications, dashboards, and new data engine. The data engineers focused on ensuring the ETL processes were more efficient. Our data analyst built customizable Tableau dashboards.

The outcome

The outcome.

During our 6-year partnership with Kinesso,  we: 

  • Developed a new product called the Marketing Intelligence Engine. This generates actionable marketing insights for customers, not just reports.
  • Developed a Tableau visualization system for customers. 
  • Enabled Kinesso’s clients to access aggregated data on-demand without relying on report analysts.
  • Created an optimized ETL tool to streamline migration to Snowflake. 
  • Customized the United Nations Global Compact Application to centralize information into a single app. The NGC is a UN pact to get businesses to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies. 

Kinesso's marketing insights solution saves their customers money by consolidating different data analytics into one platform. Their customers now have new ways to leverage their first-party data for better analysis.
