Gennev Case Study - Healthcare
Addressing Scalability, User Experience, and Site Reliability through DevOps.
The summary.
Gennev struggled with site reliability and downtime on their telehealth website. Our devs set up separate production-equivalent environments for pre-deployment smoke tests and established a backup/failover option.
About Gennev
Gennev started as a survey sent to 1500 women in various stages of menopause. Their research and conversations with medical and behavioral health experts helped build a telehealth menopause clinic in 2015. They deliver personalized telemedicine services in all 50 states.
The challenge.
The Seattle-based telemedicine company struggled with site reliability and downtime. They needed full-stack development for their web platform.
To enhance their customer experience, they needed a responsive design that integrated existing features and could effectively handle growing mobile traffic demand.
Gennev was also focused on scalability and aimed to expand from 23 to all 50 US states by the end of 2020. We devised a plan to maintain their legacy webpage while developing a new one to achieve their goals. Today, Gennev operates in all 50 states.
The company struggled with site reliability and downtime. They needed full-stack development for their web platform. They needed a responsive design that integrated existing features and could effectively handle growing mobile traffic demand.
The solution.
Our dedicated software development team put together a DevOps pipeline to prevent website failure. We provided highly skilled senior engineers who specialized in front-end development, site reliability, scalability, and maintenance.
All technologies used.
The outcome.
During our engagement, we:
- Made sure staging and disaster recovery environments were correctly set in place.
- Ensured separate production equivalents could be used to conduct smoke tests before production deployments.
- Set up an appropriate backup/failover alternative.
- Used Adobe XD for design collaboration. Visual specifications for new components were implemented in React. Backend business logic was done using Node.js.
As with every healthcare-related project, security was our top priority. We understood and satisfied the client's critical need for confidentiality and adhered to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) throughout the engagement.
The achieved milestones empowered Gennev to prioritize the planning of additional features for brand enhancement. Incremental development bolstered flexibility, catered to user requirements, fostered product innovation, and guaranteed continuous improvement.
