In the US alone, more than 100,000 tech jobs still need to be filled as demand for IT professionals exceeds supply. How can we help solve the tech talent crunch? We don’t have to look far. Talent is everywhere. It does not discriminate by geographic location, gender identity, race, country or origin, level of education, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, age, or physical ability.

Diversity is central to our values at BairesDev, and it’s one of the main reasons why we established the BairesDev Giveback Program.

What Is the BairesDev Giveback Program?

Through the biannual Giveback Program, now in its 7th edition, we promote a more diverse and inclusive industry by supporting underrepresented minorities in the tech sector through donations to nonprofit organizations (NPOs) that connect talent with opportunities.

To create greater awareness, we encourage our clients to be part of this initiative by inviting them to choose the causes that we, as a company, support. They simply select an organization from our pre-curated list, and we do the rest. BairesDev is responsible for 100% of the donation.

For the 2022 end-year Giveback Program, BairesDev has chosen the theme “reskilling talent for careers in tech.” We believe that people with diverse backgrounds need more opportunities to gain the qualifications necessary to access and thrive in the competitive tech landscape. To support these communities, we have selected three NPOs that assist professionals who are looking to pursue careers in tech by offering them reskilling opportunities.

  1. Per Scholas: focuses on advancing economic equity and connecting talent to leading businesses through skills training.
  2. Generation: prepares adults of all ages for jobs and transforms education into employment systems to support people in life-changing careers.
  3. Reskill Americans: provides tuition-free software development training to unemployed, underemployed, and career-changing underrepresented minorities.

Boosting Tech Talent and Contributing to a More Diverse Industry

There is a clear path forward for helping diverse talent succeed in tech, and we are thrilled to be a part of it.

BairesDev created the Giveback Program to empower people and build spaces for talent to shine. So far, we have made over 700 donations on behalf of our clients to more than 100 organizations helping tech talent thrive worldwide.

The Program has been recognized in the 20th edition of the 2022 American Business Awards granted by Stevie Awards, earning the Bronze in Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year. We look forward to continuing to foster and support tech talent through the program and beyond.
